The Gaze
"The Gaze" is a thought-provoking collection of ceramic sculptures that delves into the complex interplay between female bodies andthe influence of the male gaze. This collection was created a year after my immigration from Iran, serving as a therapeutic project. The core concept revolves around the objectification and sexualization of women's bodies, symbolically manifested in the form of vessels. Inspired by my experiences in a society marked by toxic masculinity, each sculpture is a deliberate exploration challenging societal norms and power dynamics in the visual representation of female identity. Beyond its artistic expression, the collection serves as a profound commentary on the nuanced intersection of gender and culture.
